Actor's Fund
The Actor's Fund is a nonprofit, national human services organization that helps entertainment and performing arts professionals in theater, film, music, opera, television and dance through a broad spectrum of social, health, employment and housinf programs that address their essential and critical needs. www.actorsfund.org

Altadena Heritage

Altadena Heritage, a non-profit, volunteer-based organization, is dedicated to protecting and preserving the rich architectural, environmental, and cultural history of our unique foothills community.  Membership is open to all who are interested in preservation, education, quality restoration and responsible development in Altadena. www.altadenaheritage.org 

Altadena Historical Society 

The Altadena Historical Society is a non-profit group dedicated to preserving and archiving the rich history of our Southern California community through maintaining a comprehensive research archive;  publishing a quarterly newsletter, The Echo;  (3) Opening our archives to students, researchers and the general public and assisting with research requests; offering informative and engaging guest

Armory Center for the Arts 
The Armory Center for the Arts is a community arts center that offers innovative approaches to creating, exploring, and presenting the arts to students of all ages. Art Walk  The Downtown Los Angeles Artwalk is a free event held every second Thursday afternoon in and around the Historic Core's Gallery Row neighborhood.  For this one night each month, Downtown L.A. reurns to its historic pedestrian-based culture, a vibrant scene that is itself a draw for locals and tourists seeking an authentic urban experience. www.downtownartwalk.com 
 
The Arts & Business Council of Americans for the Arts supports national programs that build stronger private sector support for the arts. In addition to working to stimulate more financial support for the arts, efforts are also made to stimulate and support voluntarism, services the arts can offer to business, the transfer of management expertise from business to the arts, and sharing of knowledge and best practices. www.artsusa.org
 
Arts and Culture Commission, City of Pasadena
The Arts and Culture Commission serves as primary advisory body of the City Council established to act as a catalyst bringing government, the arts and culture and public  sectors together.
  
Business Volunteers for the Arts
Founded in 1965, Business Volunteers for the Artsis devoted to stimulating partnerships between the arts and business that benefit both sectors and the communities they serve. In 1980 the Council began expanding some services to serve the entire country.  www.artsusa.org
 
Arts for LA
Arts for LA is an arts advocacy organization working to strengthen the public value of arts and arts education in the 88 municipalities and 80 school districts in LA County.  www.artsforla.org

California Alliance for Arts Education
The CAAE promotes, supports,and advocates visual and performing arts education for preschool through post-secondary students in California schools. It also has an online arts education directory.

California Artists Coalition of Los Angeles (CACLA)

The genesis of CACLA resulted from a groundbreaking conversation between John W. Outterbridge, internationally renowned artist and founding member of California Artist Coalition of Los Angeles, Danny J. Bakewell, Sr., executive publisher, chairman and chief executive officer of the Los Angeles Sentinel newspaper and Ayndrea Wilson, also a founding member and current president of CACLA. John Outterbridge called together prominent artists and others who saw the importance in forming an organization similar to the National Black Council of the 1960s.  www.cacla.org

 

California Arts Council
The California Arts Council, a state agency, has the mission to advance California through the arts and creativity with an emphasis on children and artistically underserved communities.  The agency encourages widespread public participation in the arts; helps build strong arts organizations at the local level; assists with the professional development of arts leaders; promotes awareness of the value of the arts; and directly support arts program for children and communities.  www.cac.ca.gov

California Association of Nonprofits

California Lawyers for the Arts, Inc.

California Lawyers for the Arts, a nonprofit, tax-exempt service organization, founded in 1974,  provides lawyer referrals, dispute resolution services, education programs and publications to artists of all disciplines and arts organizations. www.calawyersforthearts.org

 

Center for Cultural Innovation
The Center for Cultural Innovation (CCI),  launched in 2001, promotes knowledge sharing, networking and financial independence for individual artists and creative entrepreneurs by providing business training, grants and loans, and incubating innovative projects that create new program knowledge, tools and practices for artists in the field.  CCI taps leading experts from both the nonprofit and commercial business sectors to develop next generation tools and support systems that artists need. Programs developed and incubated in California will be made available to other cities and communities nationally.  www.cciarts.org

Coffee Gallery
T
he Coffee Gallery Backstage is a 49 seat show room connected to a coffee house surprisingly called, "The Coffee Gallery."  The Backstage is a listening room with a fine sound system, good lights, comfortable seating and a killer atmosphere. T
he room "location" is a coffee bean warehouse somewhere in Central America. 
The entertainers seem to be overjoyed with  this bean storage facility as the audience is starved for "good" music and  comedy and no machinery of any kind makes a sound while they are  performing.   www.coffeegallery.com

 

Cultural Affairs Division, City of Pasadena                                                     Cultural Affairs Division supports the arts and culture in the city. It also promotes Pasadena in the Southern California area and nationally as a center of American history as well as a vibrant arena for the creation of new art and film. 
 

Dance/USA

Dance/USA sustains and advances professional dance by addressing the needs of artists, administrators and organizations.  By providing services and national leadership, Dance/USA enhances the infrastructure for dane creation, education and dissemination. www.danceusa.org

LA County Arts Commission
The Commission fosters excellence, diversity, vitality, understanding and accessibility of the arts in Los Angeles County. National Endowment for the Arts
Established in 1965 to foster, preserve, and promote excellence in the arts, to bring art to all Americans, and to provide leadership in arts education. An independent agency of the federal government, the Endowment is the nation's largest annual funder of the arts, bringing great art to all 50 states, including rural areas, inner cities, and military bases.  www.arts.endow.gov
 
Pasadena Arts Council
The Pasadena Arts Council is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization that provides resources, programs and services to artists, arts and cultural organizations, audiences, young people and visitors to Pasadena. Pasadena Community Foundation

The Pasadena Community Foundation is an advocate and resource for local philanthropy.  It is a collection of charitable funds that provide perpetual support to local non-profit organizations.  The Foundation helps individuals, families and groups set up charitable funds to support casues they care about, including agency endowments, memorial and honor funds, scholarship funds and donor advised funds.  www.pasadenacf.org

Pasadena Tournament of Roses Foundation 
Tournament of Roses Foundation, a non-profit corporation, to receive contributions from members, friends and supporters. The Foundation makes annual grants to activities which enhance the traditions of the Tournament of Roses and to worthwhile programs which contribute to the civic, cultural and educational advancement of the Pasadena area. Grants are awarded under the following three categories: Performing & Visual Arts, Sports & Recreation and Volunteer Motivation & Leadership Development.  www.tournamentofroses.com

 

Poetry Out Loud
Website for the popular national high-school poetry recitation competition. Includes list of poets, biographical information and a comprehensive list of poetry available for the competition, as well as additional content. Theatre Communications Group
With its mission of  strengthening, nurturing and promoting the professional not-for-profit American theatre, its programs further the core values of fostering connection, embracing diversity and supporting artistry in the American theatre.  TCG seeks to increase the organizational efficiency of our member theatres, cultivate and celebrate the artistic talent and achievements of the field, and promote a larger public understanding of and appreciation for the theatre.  www.tcg.org 

Visual and Performing Arts Education
The California Department of Education provides assistance to implement visual and performing arts education programs, kindergarten through twelth grade.  www.cde.ca.gov
